Early YearsIEYC Curriculum

The International Early Years Curriculum is built upon eight foundational learning principles crucial for the holistic development of children. Acknowledging the pivotal importance of early childhood, our curriculum places a strong emphasis on nurturing environments that promote optimal growth. We firmly believe in the individualised nature of learning, recognizing that each child progresses at their own pace. Through immersive, play-based experiences, the IEYC capitalises on children’s natural curiosity to facilitate meaningful learning.

By offering a blend of developmentally appropriate activities guided by teachers and initiated by children, we foster both independent and collaborative learning opportunities, nurturing international-mindedness and personal development. Our curriculum encourages exploration and expression through diverse mediums, empowering children to deepen their understanding and acquire essential knowledge and skills.

We are committed to a comprehensive assessment process that involves collaboration and reflection with families, ensuring a holistic approach to tracking children’s progress. Above all, at NIRA ISC, we strive to make learning an enjoyable and engaging experience, sparking a sense of wonder and enabling children to pursue their passions with enthusiasm.

Primary and Lower SecondaryCambridge Curriculum

The Cambridge Pathway – from primary through to pre-university

At NIRA ISC, we are dedicated to providing a world-class education through our Cambridge International Curriculum for Primary and Lower Secondary students. As part of the renowned Cambridge Pathway, our curriculum offers a comprehensive and enriching learning experience that prepares students for success in an increasingly globalised world.

Our curriculum emphasises the importance of core subjects such as Global English, Mathematics, and Science. Through engaging and interactive lessons, students develop proficiency in these subjects while also gaining a deeper understanding of their real-world applications.

For students from Grade 3/Year 4 and above, our curriculum includes Global Perspectives, encouraging exploration of global issues from multiple perspectives. Through thought-provoking discussions and inquiry-based projects, students develop critical thinking skills and a broader understanding of the world around them.

In an era driven by technology, our curriculum also includes computing to equip students with essential digital literacy skills, from simple programming to digital citizenship.

We believe in the importance of a well-rounded education that nurtures students’ creativity and physical well-being. That’s why our curriculum includes subjects such as music, physical education (PE), and art, allowing students to explore their passions and talents beyond the traditional classroom setting.

The curriculum includes continuous assessments at all age levels, and at the end of Grade 5/Years 6, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning through the internationally recognised Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Exams. These exams provide valuable feedback on academic progress and readiness for the next stage of education.

Our Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary curriculum seamlessly integrates with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Programs, ensuring a smooth transition for students along the Cambridge Pathway.

At NIRA International School, we are committed to delivering an exceptional educational experience that empowers students to thrive academically, intellectually, and socially.
